In spite of its title, this book by Dave Warden was not published by the Cryptic Corporation. It is a thorough discography of the Residents, listing every album they've made or appeared on up until the publication date (including the four unreleased pre-1972 albums) as well as tours (including tour dates), videos, and books. The cover artwork was done by Mark Mothersbaugh, the lead singer for DEVO.

Even though much of the book's discographical information came from Ralph Records, the Cryptic Corporation points out that a lot of the data in the book is incorrect. Uncle Willie's Highly Opinionated Guide to the Residents is, in part, an attempt to get the correct information out into the real world
